The Vegan Society is looking for committed and knowledgeable people to help us with our work in Durban.
You are probably aware that there is already a group of organisers in Joburg, but since last year there is also a group in Cape Town. One of our main goals is establishing more organisers’ committees in the metros around SA to do things like help organise social events, hold information stalls or whatever is appropriate for your area.
The way we would like these committees to function is by mixing the resources of an organisation like the Vegan Society with the abilities and the strengths of local organisers. An example would be that the organisers put together a talk, the Vegan Society then sends you some things like pamphlets to distribute and some T-shirts to sell and whatever else you might need, and we promote it to our database.
We are looking for people who live in Durban, are knowledgeable about veganism, issues around veganism and abolitionist animal rights, are good with people and will have a few hours a week to work on projects and organise an event every few weeks.
If you think this is you, please write to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it with a short letter telling us about you and what you would like to achieve through the Vegan Society.
We would be thrilled to get a group of people organising in long-neglected Durban, and will help you with all the resources we can to help make this venture a success.
Here’s to an active Durban!
