Why vegan?

Loving it at Leafy Greens

Johannesburg once again has a restaurant that serves only vegan food — the Leafy Greens Café at Casalinga in Muldersdrift. Not only do Antonia De Luca and Brandon Sowers serve superb buffets that are 100% free of animal products, but almost all their dishes are also suitable for raw foodists. Set in a quiet, tranquil corner of Joburg, Leafy Greens are currently open for Saturday and Sunday buffets from 11h00 in the morning till late afternoon. They will also gladly prepare something during the week for bookings of six or more people, but anyone can pop in anytime for a tasty juice. The shop adjacent to the restaurant offers a small but well selected array of healthy products.

Antonia and Brandon hope that Leafy Greens Café becomes a springboard for activities and events that will draw people to create awareness in the way we live on our planet.

They try very hard to live and work sustainably by making compost from their food leftovers, they have a solar dehydrator, a wood oven and are working on getting their diesel generators running on veggie power! Every meal eaten there will also support local underprivileged communities in South Africa.
